27 June 2019

Sigma Shipping is extremely important to us as it means we can control every aspect of the short sea and ferry shipments of our own freight. If the service is good enough for us, you can have confidence that it’s even better for you.

We’ve expanded in order to provide a full-capability, high frequency international shipment service for all types of machinery. Our experience, network of reliable partners and dedicated staff all contribute to delivering the smoothest, most reliable service possible. So whether you’re looking to ship machinery parts to West Africa, a crawler crane to Vietnam, or anything else, you can be assured that we are doing everything we can to provide the best service for you.

Choosing Sigma

Why choose us?

Why should you waste your time and money on another shipping agent when Sigma Shipping can handle the purchase, the export and the import of your machinery all at once? Our strict procurement process is designed to prevent fraud and to make sure you get the exact used construction equipment you order, from mining and quarry machinery to road construction, earthmoving and piling equipment. We even have repair technicians and machine packers in most major ports who can handle heavy, oversized road haulage across Europe, US, Africa and Asia. When you buy machinery from us, you’ll be updated from the moment of purchase right to the point you receive it. You, as the customer, are our main priority and we aim to deliver ultimate piece of mind.

Aftersales Team

Aftersales at Sigma Plantfinder

When you receive your machinery we do not class this as “job done”.
Our dedicated Aftersales team will keep in touch with courtesy calls to check everything is working perfectly. If you are unsatisfied with anything our team are always ready just in case you need advice, training or spare parts. Once you have been supported by the sales team, you will be fully introduced to the Aftersales team who will support you from then onwards.

Getting your machine to you

Machine Dismantling

Sigma can arrange for machines to be partially dismantled to maximise savings on shipping costs. On machines such as heavy excavators, crawler cranes, crushers and motor graders, reductions in shipping costs are easily obtained through machine dismantling. Just one example of us using this method was when a customer purchased a Hitachi KH180 50-ton crawler crane. We arranged for this to be shipped from Southampton to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. This machine was equipped with a 40m boom, which had to be stripped from the machine, dismantled and carefully packed into containers ready to ship. This was done on site and we were able to take the containers to the port and ship them quickly. The base crane was then taken on a low loader truck to Southampton. We then loaded the machine onto a flat rack container and shipped it with the boom. We can provide you with the same efficient service!
