South African hotel management company, Newmark Hotels, Reserves & Lodges has been awarded the contract for the hotel forming part of the 15-storey Hallmark House which is set to open in September 2016, in Maboneng district.
Hallmark House, which is located in the Maboneng district on the east side of the Johannesburg CBD, was initially built in the 1970s as a diamond-polishing centre. It comprises a mix of residential and hotel apartments. Maboneng means ‘place of light’ in Sotho and is owned and being developed by Propertuity.
Maboneng is a vibrant and fast growing modern neighbourhood that has become a target destination for those who enjoy creativity and those with entrepreneurial spirit, given the metropolitan outlook, from graffiti to art centers and photo studios; high end markets to yoga studios; new designer stores, the area is innovative and full of art.
Newmark’s boutique hotel will be exemplary in its style and ambience and will come in handy for businesspeople and tourists to explore this multi-cultural community.
